Another Stupid Quiz

Okay, the anchoress sucked me into this quiz and I don't even watch South Park:

Which South Park kid are you most like?

Tweek

You are extremely hyper... mainly because of your high caffiene intake. You feel like you're under too much pressure.

Looks like Glenn's a pretty buff guy, as well as a lucky one:

Which I guess makes Helen lucky too.

Tweek is cute and lovable, not lame. His parents own the latte-shop, so he's been over-caffeinated since birth.

I always liked the "Harbucks" episode, maybe because it was one of the first that I watched and it was so cool/weird that they were defending capitalism, especially a big business vs. small business.

Tweek isn't lame, just over caffeinated as others mentioned and therefore very nervous/paranoid about everything.

I wish the quiz had a few more questions and possible different characters, there are so many interesting ones on South Park.

I came up as Kyle, which I kind of expected. More questions would have been better.

Wikipedia.org on Tweek:

"Tweek is noted for his quirky mannerisms; he is always nervous and jittery and usually overdosed on caffeine, leading to extreme paranoia and hyperactivity. In addition, he claims that "I can't sleep... ever." His voice is usually strained, and he tends to scream, "GAH! Too much pressure, I can't take it!!" or some variation thereof.

"...Tweek's parents own a coffee shop, Tweek Bros. Coffee, and attempt to calm him using coffee; this has the effect of increasing his caffeine levels and worsening his mental state, however no one ever makes the connection...."

Tweek is not really lame but his parents are, so he will probably grow up to be lame.

I came up with Kyle. Like you, I haven't the faintest idea what the significance of this is.

Stupid quizzes.

Did Tweek's parents not understand that [St/H]arbucks created the market for latté? There are actually something like twice as many non-Starbucks coffee shops in business now than the total number before Starbucks engendered the fad.

No they didn't understand. Nor do most of the coffee producing countries of the world. If you are ever in Granada, Nicaragua you can enjoy some of the coffee I grow on my little farm. Go to "Nacho Mama's" on the central square across from the Cathedral, they will be happy to sell you a bag of "Cafe Che".

This actually gets off into a discussion of international trade policies. Existing treaties do not allow coffee exporting nations to do the real value added work, which is the roasting. Most coffee producers can sell only the green coffee beans. Their are huge tarriffs on roasted coffee imports to both the U.S. and Europe.

Once the beans get to the first world, they are roasted; and that is where the money is. The coffee your parents love, the dishwater kind, is very lightly roasted. The same beans, roasted "until the oil comes out" (translated from the Spanish description of the process)produce the delicious aromatic, and soothing coffee that Tweek and his family enjoy so much. Starbuck's brought this to the attention of the american people, and made a killing.

The names you know so well, Maxwell House, Yuban, Farmers, Hills Bros. etc., are finally figuring this out and roasting much darker. Maybe our parents, who never acquired a taste for the dark roasted Starbucks process, are dying off a a rate which is cutting into business and finally forcing them to roast for the "Starbucks Generation".

Regardless of the reason for the change in taste, I think it is a shame that the coffee producing nations are being kept out of the most profitable part of the business, the roasting, by trade barriers set up by first world nations.

Ammended final paragraph of my last post:

Regardless of the reason for the change in taste, I think it is a shame that the coffee producing nations, THE COFFEE PRODUCERS AND DRINKERS IN ALL OF WHICH HAVE ALWAYS PREFERED EXTREMELY DARK ROASTED COFFEE (i.e. THEY HAVE PREFERRED FOR GENERATIONS COFFEE ROASTED IN THE STARBUCKS STYLE) HAVE BEEN AND ARE BEING KEPT out of the most profitable part of the business, the roasting, by trade barriers set up by first world nations. THOSE BARRIERS KEPT GENERATIONS OF AMERICANS FROM BEING EXPOSED TO THE VARETY OF COFFEE FLAVORS THAT CAN BE PRODUCED BY THE METHOD OF ROASTING.

I don't drink coffee.

"Butters: You are extremely naive. You'll believe whatever anyone tells you. This is because your parents have sheltered you."

South Park is shown on one of the local channels at night. I can't tell if it is censored. The voices are annoying and it seems crude so I try to avoid it.
