Giuliani on the War and Energy Independence

Roger Simon and Claudia Rosett at Pajamas Media have an interesting conversation with Rudy Giuliani on the war and energy independence. There is great video and a transcript for those of you who would rather read than watch. I hope that Giuliani has taken a look at Bob Zubrin's work or maybe he can listen to our podcast with Zubrin here to get some ideas on alternative energy.

My apologies for being off-topic, but I read something that made me wonder, "What would Dr. H. think?" The Anchoress said:

2) Both of these “assassination” fears originated - as did all of the Bush-assassination fantasies - on the left. I know that means something, but I’m not sure what. I assume it has something to do with the terrible assassinations of three remarkable American men in a formative decade, about hagiography and “feelings” and narcissism, too. Someone trained in psychology and analysis will have to figure that one out.

She mentions later that Siggy commented on the topic. I thought I'd mention it as a possible topic at some point.

Peregrine John,

Yes, I read the Anchoress's post. All I have to add at this point is that many of the assasinations--real and attempted--carried out in more recent years on political figures seem to be conducted by those with extreme left wing ideology. Perhaps those leftists with assasination fantasies have difficulty controlling their own anger and resentment and project that others will feel the same way.

Never again will I post before I listen. At least not for the G&H Show.

The only step congress and the president should make is to reduce excessive governmental regulation and red tape for energy producers and to remove all subsidies of energy industries. The free market really will take care of this if the government would just get out of the way. (Oh, and the feds can stop being jerks to Florida about offshore drilling.)

A proposal for an energy program based largely on Zubrin's ideas, with extensive discussion including comments by some knowledgeable people. Here.
